How Are The V-Bucks Calculated?
The calculator takes the different pack prices and bulk discounts into account, instead of relying on a flat V-Bucks-to-USD exchange rate. Enter a V-Bucks target to find the cheapest combination of standard packs that covers it, or enter a dollar budget to see the most V-Bucks you could buy for that amount.
This is based on the Epic Games Store’s US-dollar pack prices and Epic’s March 2026 pricing announcement. It assumes the listed packs can be purchased repeatedly. Regional pricing, tax, existing V-Bucks, payment restrictions, gift cards and Epic Rewards can change the practical result. Epic says V-Bucks bought in its online store cannot be used on Nintendo Switch, so check your platform before buying. Epic’s in-game Exact Amount offer is separate: it can be offered when you’re short of V-Bucks during an eligible Item Shop purchase, not as an unrestricted pack you can repeatedly buy in the Epic Games Store.

The larger standard packs give you more V-Bucks for each dollar. Note that the old 1,000 / 2,800 / 5,000 / 13,500 amounts still appear on some older V-Bucks cards, but they are not the four standard in-game packs now listed by Epic.

Yes, a million dollars would theoretically buy more than 138 million V-Bucks at these rates. Crazy, right?
Can You Transfer V-Bucks From One Account To Another?
Sadly, if you’ve redeemed V-Bucks on an old account, or you want to give a friend some V-Bucks you already own, you can’t transfer that balance to another account. Epic confirms this in its V-Bucks card FAQ.
Instead, you can give someone an eligible Fortnite or physical V-Bucks gift card to redeem on their own account, or gift an eligible Item Shop item directly to a friend. Gift-card availability depends on region, and Fortnite has rules about what can be gifted. Gifting an item is not the same as transferring an existing V-Bucks balance.

How much does 1,000 V-Bucks cost now?
The old 1,000 V-Bucks standard pack was replaced in March 2026. With the currently listed packs, the cheapest way to buy at least 1,000 from zero is two 800-V-Bucks packs for $17.98. You receive 1,600 V-Bucks. If you already have a balance and you’re buying an eligible shop item, the Exact Amount offer may give you another option.
Which V-Bucks pack offers the best value?
Of the four standard US-dollar packs, the 12,500 V-Bucks pack at $89.99 gives the most V-Bucks per dollar. But if you only need a small number, a combination of smaller packs can cost less in total.
Are V-Bucks prices the same in every country?
No. These examples use US-dollar pack prices. Other countries, platforms and payment methods may show different totals. Always check your own Fortnite checkout before paying.
